The Oscars 2010

The recently concluded Academy Awards made history as Kathryn Bigelow of “The Hurt Locker” became the first woman in Oscar history to win Best Director. It was also the first time that there were ten nominees for Best Picture. But the biggest news of the evening is that the top grossing film “Avatar” snatched only three awards compared to “The Hurt Locker” which won 6 out of 9 Oscars including Best Picture.
